NCC Compliance Advice

Rather than waiting for a formal assessment to tell you what is wrong, we work alongside your designer and answer code questions as they come up.

When It Helps

Best used before the drawings are locked.

Early design, feasibility, unusual buildings, change of use, or any project where a code question is holding up a decision. Also useful on existing buildings where nobody is certain what the current obligations are.

Building classification

What class the building is, and what that pulls in — the decision everything else follows from.

Access and egress

Travel distances, exit widths and paths of travel, tested against the design as drawn.

Fire safety

Resistance levels, separation and the systems the class of building requires.

Accessibility

Obligations under the relevant standards for your project.

Common Questions

Answers before you ask.

How is this different from a BCA report?
A BCA report is a formal, documented assessment of a design at a point in time. Compliance advice is the conversation — quicker, cheaper, and better suited to a design that is still changing.

There are limits on what a certifier can do on a project they will certify. We will tell you where that line sits before you engage us.

Yes, and it is usually the most efficient way to do it.
