Critical Stage Inspections
Certain stages of construction have to be inspected before the work is covered up. Miss one and the fix is expensive. We book to your program, turn up when we say we will, and report back while the trades are still on site.
WHEN IT'S REQUIRED
At the stages prescribed for your class of building.
The exact list depends on the building class and the approval, and we set it out for you at appointment rather than leaving you to guess.
Before it is covered
Footings, reinforcement and other work that cannot be checked once concealed.
Structure and framing
Before cladding and linings go on.
Drainage and services
As required for the approval.
Final
Completed work, ahead of the Occupation Certificate.

Common Questions
Answers before you ask.
How much notice do you need?
What happens if a stage was missed?
Tell us straight away. Depending on the stage, there may be a way to verify the work another way — but it is always cheaper to call before it is covered.
What if the inspection fails?
You get a clear statement of what does not comply and what will satisfy it. We are not looking to stop your job; we are looking to get it signed off.
