Principal Certifier Services

Every project needs a Principal Certifier appointed before work starts. It is the role that carries responsibility for compliance across the whole build — inspections, records and the final certificate. We take it on properly: available when you call, on site when you need us, and honest about what we find.

When It's Required

Before the first day on site, without exception.

Appointed by the person with the benefit of the consent — usually the owner — before building work commences. The appointment runs through to the Occupation Certificate.

Formal appointment

Contract in place and the required notices given before work starts.

Inspection schedule

The required stages for your class of building, mapped to your program up front.

Compliance oversight

Issues raised as they arise, with a path to resolution rather than a stop-work note.

Records and final certificate

The documentation trail maintained through the build so the OC is not a scramble.

01

Contract, fee and inspection schedule agreed before work starts.

02

Through construction

Inspections at each required stage, reports back promptly, one point of contact.

03

Final inspection and Occupation Certificate.

Common Questions

Answers before you ask.

Is the Principal Certifier the same thing as the inspections?

The appointment is the role; the critical stage inspections are the work it obliges. You engage a Principal Certifier, and the inspections follow.

Often, yes. Send us the certificates issued to date and the inspection record and we will tell you where the project stands.

No. The appointment must come from the person with the benefit of the consent — that independence is the point of the role.
